Summertime is Here!

Really stoked to be flying to Indonesia late Wednesday night to play our first show ever in that country at Java Rocking'Land . It's the biggest festival in Southeast Asia with bands like Imagine Dragons, Collective Soul, Suicidal Tendencies, and more, and they are expecting 30,000 people! Sugar Ray will be closing the festival on Sunday night, and we can't wait to share our live experience with the Indonesian fans.

We've been doing a series of fly-in dates lately in Little Rock, Chicago, and Fargo, and the gigs have been killer! Special shout-out to the beautiful people of Fargo who were rock in' out non-stop the entire show!

Have been rehearsing extensively with some new players for the Under The Sun Tour, since the twins will be touring all summer with their incredible band The Interrupters, opening for Rancid. We definitely look forward to their return, but my Lord did we luck out on finding their replacements. On drums is our old friend, and one of the best drummers I have ever shared the stage with, Mr. Dean Butterworth. Dean use to play in reggae bands with Rod back in the day in OC, and has played with Morrisey, Ben Harper, and has been in our friends band Good Charlotte for the last 10 years. On bass, also from the Madden Brothers camp, is another monster and super nice guy Serge Dmitrijevic. It has been an absolute joy playing with musicians like the Bivonas , and now Dean and Serge, and my association with Camp Freddy/Magnificent 7 has made me realize how important great players are. It had made me recommitt my focus as a singer, and rehearsals have been inspiring, extensive and an absolute joy.

This July will be the 25th anniversary of the beginning of Sugar Ray (even though we started out as the Shrinky Dinx, not one of my better ideas!), and Rod and I still can't believe how fortunate we are to be able to play this music that we wrote around the world. We are still writing music today and we look forward to debuting a new song on the UTS tour called "Summertime's Comin'. Yes we've had some great memories with those who have chosen to leave, but we are still here, and there will be no looking back. You will literally have to pull Rod and I kicking and screaming off that stage, and we greatly look forward to maintaining the commitment and preserving the legacy of the SR songs for many years to come.

A big thanks to all of those who believe in these SR songs as much as I do....see you this summer!

So excited to see you July 19th in Iowa. I got the M&G package and can't wait to meet you Mark. I have loved your music for years, and know every song by heart. I hope the M&G package includes early entry into the venue, because I have to be in front!!! See you in a month, CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Re: Summertime is Here!

Thank you so much Julie and Laurie, looking forward to seeing you both at the show. And yes, Laurie, the M&G are early so you'll be one of the first in the venue!
